phae terms of use (beta)

Welcome to phae! These Terms of Use (“Terms”) form an agreement between you (“you,” “your”) and phae (“we,” “us,” “our”). By accessing or using phae, you agree to these Terms.

1. Beta Nature of the Service

phae is currently in beta testing. Features may change, and you may encounter bugs or incomplete functionality.
We are offering access so that we can learn and improve. Your feedback is a key part of this process.

2. No Professional Advice & Crisis Disclaimer

phae provides guidance, reflections, and personalized options based on what you share. phae does not provide financial, medical, psychological, or mental health advice.

The platform is designed to support self-reflection and career/life exploration, but you are solely responsible for any decisions or actions you take based on phae’s suggestions or outputs.

phae does not guarantee outcomes such as employment, income, academic admission, or personal development milestones. Any content provided is informational and exploratory only.

Crisis Use:
phae is not designed for emergencies or crisis situations. The coach is not a mental health professional, medical provider, or emergency service.
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, thoughts of self-harm, or any other emergency, do not use phae. Call 911 (in the U.S.) or your local emergency number immediately.

By using phae, you acknowledge that it is a coaching and guidance tool only. It is not a substitute for professional advice or emergency services. You agree that phae is not liable for any decisions, outcomes, or actions you take based on the content or outputs of the platform, including in situations involving health, safety, financial planning, or crisis.

3. Eligibility

To use the phae beta, you must be at least 16 years old.

• Ages 16–17: You may use phae independently, but we recommend parental involvement.
• Age 18+: You may use phae independently and without assistance.

By creating an account, you confirm that you meet these requirements.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use phae only for lawful purposes.
• Provide accurate information when interacting with the coach.
• Respect that this is a beta version — features may be limited or change without notice.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, designs, and features within phae are owned by phae.
You may not copy, distribute, or use phae’s materials outside the platform without written permission from phae.

6. Privacy & Data Use

Your use of phae is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
By using phae, you agree to how we collect and use data as described in our Privacy Policy.
We encourage you to review how we handle personal information, including any optional data you may choose to provide (such as learning preferences or neurodiversity-related details).

7. Third-Party Technology

phae uses trusted third-party AI providers (such as GPT and Claude) to generate conversational responses.
While we take measures to safeguard your data, you acknowledge that some processing occurs through these partners. These systems are used to enhance personalization and support — but they do not replace human judgment or professional services.

8. Limitation of Liability

phae is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, phae and its affiliates are not liable for any loss, damage, or harm resulting from your use of the platform or reliance on its content — including but not limited to decisions related to health, safety, career, financial outcomes, or crisis situations.

This includes any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

In no event will phae’s total liability exceed the amount you paid to access the service (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

9. Termination

You may stop using phae at any time.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you misuse the service or violate these Terms.
